GOOGLE’S COLLAB WITH LEVIS : SMART- JACKET

When the simple CLOTHING was not ENOUGH!.Google started the project called JACQUARD that is about “turning any textile into a touch screen input like device” . In 2015 they announced to make it possible to “WAVE TOUCH and GESTURE interactivity into any textile using STANDARD industrial LOOM .The smart jacket is a part of GOOGLE’s project JACQUARD, announce in 2015 to create something new, some interactive conducting YARN to CREATE smart CLOTHES and FURNITURE too. THE word “SMART” is being used as DESIGNERS and DEVELOPER both working together to build TOUCH-SENSITIVE textile.

WHY THEY STARTED THIS PROJECT?

According to google , the quality of life is suffering because of people constantly looking to their phones like keeping track of number of likes of Facebook , checking directions while traveling. These thing seem small in looking but in  actually CREATES A BIG FUZZ to the life and also affecting number of people around it. So GOOGLE SOLVED this PROBLEM once and for all.

At south by southwest Google and Levis displayed their SMART JACKET for $350 around.The jacket is DARK DENIM , which is no DIFFERENT from other LEVIS Jacket in looks but has out grown from an ordinary one. The Jacquard jacket has distinguished features with the screen-less fabric touch interface to the left arm of the jacket. The Smart Jacket is equipped with five gestures :-

1.Brushing out (Towards the palm)
2.Brushing in (To the arm)
3.Double Tapping
4.Full Palming
5.Making Circular Motion

It comes with an app from which you can control and assign each gesture a test like , STOPPING , STARTING the MUSIC , INCREASING , DECREASING , CHANGING the next SONG and also not to forget PICKING , DROPPING the calls.

WHAT ABOUT WASHING?

WELL it doesn’t matter how much  SMART a jacket can be, it will not be considered as a jacket unless it can be washed.Don’t worry for the SMART CAPABILITY of it , because all the feature and its capability are STORED in a USB . This USB can be fitted into a small inlet on the underside of the left handcuff. Before a wash the USB is KEPT safe as you can SNAPP the top HALF from the BUTTON.

RECENT NEWS AND UPDATES

The test for this JACKET was successful . SOON they will be launching for the MARKET. The project JACQUARD will continue to grow and will create some aesthetic wears.
